Great bass from these 12s in ported enclosure
Made a boom box with 2 x 12s for 4 ohm and 2 x jaycar 6.5 silk dome 2 ways. These 12s are awesome shake the room . Pity no 4 ohm versions
ABSOLUTE TRASH. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
I bought this speaker 4 weeks ago, it was a replacement speaker for a Logitech z506 5.1 surround speaker set, 75watt rms (150 watt pmpo). Small sub is 25w, satellite speakers are all 10w. The new speaker blew after one weeks use, I took it back to the shop and the guy behind the counter replaced it. The replacement speaker blew again after 1 week again. Do NOT buy Jaycar’s RESPONSE brand speakers. They had the same Wattage and the same Ohms as the original speaker they were replacing. Jaycar’s Response speakers are simply POOR QUALITY. The original Logitech speaker lasted me 20yrs, Jaycar’s lasted just 1 week, both the speakers I bought off them, TRASH.
Great low-cost mid
One of the better drivers offered by Jaycar. I'm using this 5" driver as a mid in a 3 way. In a 7L sealed section with plenty of wadding, it produces clean, smooth sound that is easy to integrate with the other drivers.

bought 2 of these to replace some worn out 8 inch drivers in a Yamaha sub from the late 90's and wow what a difference at half volume I can feel the bass
Hi Fi Response
I use this 5 inch version and a Response Tweeter in my 2-way Hi-Fi speakers. The 5inch model specifically: Note the SPL response chart; a broad even response, and you can hear it. For my setup it's noticeably better than the 4 inch or 6.5 inch. There is no comparison. Coupled with a SUB or port that enhances the sub 100Hz, it sounds.. perfect.
High quality speaker driver
These Response speaker drivers are well-made and produce a great sound. They would suit well for custom speaker builds and offer good value for money. The included documentation on the website is great as it includes frequency and impedance response graphs as well as key parameters.
