A fish tape is a tool that's used to draw wire and cable through wall cavities or conduit. The dumb way to do this is with a length of fencing wire and hours of frustration.

The smart way is with 15m of flat, rigid spring steel with a built-in cable eye on the end that rolls up into its own case after use.

You can easily direct the rigid wire exactly where you need to. No electrician, data cable, antenna, home theatre or security installer should be without one.

Features:
• Easily rolls into case after use
• Length: 15m

Electrical safety warning
Conduits, wall, floor and roof cavities contain live electrical wiring. DO NOT use this device anywhere around live electrical wiring.

Ensure all electrical power is turned off and disconnected from the mains before use.

How to extrude the wire:
  • Hold the black handle with one hand
  • Grip the wire loop and draw out the wire - the casing needs to rotate

How to retract the wire:
  • Grip the black handle with one hand
  • Use your other hand to rotate the casing backwards
  • Keep the wire flat relative to the casing to prevent tangling

If the wire gets jammed, wind it back and forth several turns to release any tangles.

Bought two and the reel got stuck on both and only unwinded to around half a meter. Better of buying a higher quality one.

Broken Product

I am sure this product would work fine had it been spooled properly, unfortunately that is not the case, meaning it is impossible to retract the tape without emptying the entire spool (with great difficulty). Would not recommend this to anyone.

Look elsewhere

The product is poorly made, difficult to unspool and incredibly unworkable. I have to unspool A significant amount just to get it to (temporarily) unspool as needed. I can not recommend this product

Don't buy

It's a workout just to get any length out of the winder, and double as hard to retract. Wire itself is very difficult to work with and highly inflexible. Don't bother.
