Lots of bad parts: 1. Flimsy walls, 2. Clips don't work, that's why they supply a strap, 4. Not waterproof -- big gaps between lid and bottom, 3. Can't even connect it to standard M8 eyelets (inner connector is M8, wingnuts are on M10, why?). So for $80 you get a flimsy non-waterproof plastic box that can't connect to a standard M8 eyelet. I wish I could return it, but I lost the strap.

Great product

VK3HAGJuly 2025

Great product that replaces my home-brew old 13.8 VDC lead-acid car battery back-up system for my ham radio setup. (I used the old back up system to keep the CFA on air during the Black Saturday bushfires in Kinglake). This product upgrades the gear, ensuring my ham radio station can stay on air in the home shack if mains pwr is lost, and I can also take it into the field for field operations. As a journalist by profession, I can also use this to power (and/or keep charged) equipment (such as a video camera or broadcast transmitter) when out in the field reporting, rather than flattening the car battery. Particularly for ham radio operators, I highly recommend this product. I'll make all the circuit & block diagrams available when 'all built and tested' at vicnews.au

Solved a problem and made it tidy

This box certainly turned an old battery into something useful. It now runs lighting in a remote cottage. I attached a solar panel and ran the lighting off a cigarette lighter plug.

Crap quality battery terminals

Crap quality battery terminals that break in half as soon as you try to tighten them.
