UNUSABLE. MM WON'T STAY ON. Bluetooth UNUSABLE
DON'T BUY THIS. It is NOT fit for purpose. The software supports sampling at 5 Min intervals for a duration of 10 Hours. But it's UTTERLY USELESS for that as it TURNS ITSELF OFF after 15 mins, making the cool software recording by Bluetooth useless. (I've read the manual, and also spoken to Electus support. They confirm (Ticket No 473705), that there is No Way to disable the Auto Power Off (15mins) making the claims in the softare for TEN HOURS a flat out LIE.)
Bluetooth connectivity no fuss - rubbish!
Bought 3 weeks ago. Meter itself is fine. Claims of bluetooth connectivity without fuss is utter rubbish. Contacted Jaycar re problem shooting bluetooth connectivity, only to be sent picture of software working on one of their phones. Meterbox pro installed on all devices but it failed to scan and detect qm1578 on 7 out of 8 devices tried. Even though the devices oem bluetooth software could detect and correctly label it as qm1578 on 7 out of 8 devices. Lift your game Jaycar, you can't even tell me what the bluetooth communication spec needs to be or which android versions are compatible. Jaycar did suggest that I return the device. Too late, packaging gone and meter had already been used.
Good all rounder, highly recommended
I purchased this product about 4 years ago, it is a very solid and sturdy unit (I know because I have dropped it a couple of times - not from a great height but far enough). It works reliably, is accurate enough for my use and has all the features I need from a general-purpose multimeter. The Bluetooth app and functions are a good but not stellar, if you want something more along that line the look for something more specialised. If you are a more serious hobbiest, then you probably already have an Osilloscope etc as I do and this is more of a general tool for quick and accurate measurements. I've blown a couple of fuses but that was more my fault than the multimeter, fuses are a little bit expensive but better than blowing the whole thing up. Overall, I would highly recommend this multimeter as a good all rounder and it is my goto when I need a quick measurement.
