Marine Grade 10A Locking Lighter Plug

Bad design

This is the second & same brand plug I have bought. My other one is still working. Although it was a bit of a pain fitting the wires due to wire insulation being only slightly thicker than thinner wires. I wanted to connect a bilge pump directly to it. A ten minute job ends up taking 1 hour to somehow fit the wires into it so it can close properly. No such luck. It doesn't screw shut properly & leaves a gap. Obviously water & dust etc will enter easily. Had to spray it with with silicon oil & used plumbing grease to fill in the gaps. It shouldn't be too hard for this design to make more room in the body to fit wires.

Unreliable connection, stupid wiring design

Worst plug, stupid design, unreliable connection as side springs do not really lock in. Wiring this thing is terrible. Who manufactures such an unusable plug? Did they ever test it? No stars for this product.

Do not buy

Bought this hoping it would be a better quality plug. Only suitable for very small diameter wire due the opening size on terminals. Difficult to terminate wire as it requires the wire to do a right angle turn in limited space to fit into hole. Do not recommend for wire capable of carrying 10 amps. Manufacturer should try using it to see their poor design.

Terrible Design - No wire path to Active Terminal

There is no wire path within the plastic housing from the rear entry grommet to the Centre Active terminal. Whoever designed this has obviously never tried to wire it up. The quality of the shell and connectors is fine, the design makes it terrible to wire up. It can be done but what should have taken less the 10 minutes turned into a 40-minute task.
