Jaycar

1 Year Warranty240V Mains Power

This intelligent power meter simply plugs into a normal power point (GPO) and turns it into a real-time power monitoring outlet. You can enter the local price of your electricity and the meter will tell you exactly how much the appliance is costing to run. In addition, the power meter tracks the power(W) used and it can display the  mains voltage(V) or current(A) an appliance is drawing. The meter has backup batteries so it will not lose the stored data during a blackout or moving from point to point. Simple to install and a valuable tool for monitoring you power consumption.

Take a closer look

Wheels SevenAugust 2025

I'm looking around for a mains power monitor/meter. Glad I saw these reviews as well as the reviews from the similar looking one at Bunnings, which got an 80% rating of one-star! (that is, four people out of 5 gave a one-star review). Appalling! Look closer - it's got some work to do to take 240 V at 10A. It's a cheap (under $20) no-name, unbranded piece of generic garbage, looks like even Jaycar won't risk putting their name on it. Out of that $20, once you take out the shipping and transportation cost from a well known Asian manufacturer and the profit margin of the retailer and the taxes and duties, you don't have much left. The components inside need to be at a certain standard to be able to take up to 10 amps at 240 volts, not to mention the switches on the outside which will be pressed hundreds of times.

Untrustworthy.

Wildly over reads at low amperage. Ok at high loads but useless for standby current etc.
