TRASH. Should only be considered as scrap metal.

JAW222March 2025

ABSOLUTE TRASH. Do not waste your time purchasing. The mechanism that locks the die in place does not align. The jaws holding the die allow more than 5mm freeplay in the die causing the die to greatly misalign resulting in a very ugly inefficient crimp with excess metal flashing. Throwing a brick at the lug would do a better job. If I could rate in the negative I would. That being said I am typically quite satisfied with all other Jaycar procducts I have purchased in the past.

Doesn’t result in tight crimps

MattMay 2025

When crimping the chart on the back doesn’t seem to work. Crimping 4wg would be done at 25mm2 setting, using digitech lugs and crimping the wire just falls out. You have to crimp at 25mm2 then again at 16mm2 to get a secure fit. 6awg the same, first crimp at 16mm2 then again at 10mm2. Hardly fits on the second crimp so you get some swuished lugs but it’s the only way you can be sure the wire is secure.

Terrible product and overpriced

Brian6April 2025

Useless waste of money, don’t buy this tool. Bought on advice from Jaycar in Ringwood to do some Anderson plugs and 8mm eye terminals. Would not do straight connections and too big and awkward for Anderson plugs. Total waste of $80 will most likely give it away or toss in rubbish. Jaycar you should not sell this product.

Crimpers for big cables

Big bolt cutter style crimpers, makes crimping non insulated lugs easy because of the leverage it provides with the long handles.

Unfortunately not that great of a tool

B-DogJanuary 2024

I brought this item a fair few months ago and had it replaced after the die snapped on the third crimp only to have the second pair do the same after a month. When the crimp tool did work; It has very limited sizing for lugs and even with the correct size of lug it would squish out the sides of the die leaving an almost vice-crimped lug that did not fit into the desired space. I have since upgraded to a hydraulic crimping tool and have never been happier.

Not terrible for the price

NickJanuary 2024

does a great job of crimping, however, the hydraulic sets do perform a better job, but these at around half the price do a very decent job. i have used these for years without any issues

Great Tool

Great tool for all your crimping needs. could have been better if we have wing nut to change different size rather than have to use hand.
