Includes back-EMF (ElecroMagnetic Frequency) protection and LEDs so you can easily see the state of the outputs. The four and eight channel versions even have optical isolation to protect your main board. The one channel version operates directly from 5V.

works well
I bought this module for a robot car project and it works as intended. Power consumption and the fact that it needs 12v to operate are some drawbacks though.
