DO NOT BUY: OVERPRICED LIGHT SWITCH
This product is terrible & very misleading, overpriced and highly problematic. DO NOT USE for anything directly car, bike, or boat related. This module will autoswitch off under ANY variation in voltage, e.g Ignition systems, despite its advertising of supporting on/off, Aux, fuel pumps, fans, etc.It CANNOT accomodate anything with an engine. This switch panel is an overpriced light switch only. It will shut down everything attached to it any time a starter motor is used.
A bit disappointed.
Bought this switch panel a little while ago and not super impressed with it. The first unit I received was defective and one channel would not stop flashing on and off when the channel below it was switched on. It also had a habit of turning that channel on at random. The next unit recieved has orange indicator lights as opposed to red which isn't a big issue but irks me a little nonetheless as it doesn't match the other switches in the vehicle. The adjustable bracket that holds the switch panel has holes that don't quite align with the panel itself so the screws go in crooked (on both units I received). And lastly but almost the most important one THE UNIT IS NEGATIVELY SWITCHED so all wiring requires both a positive and negative wire ran back to the control box. Unfortunately this means you need to run twitch the cable along the vehicle and into the battery bay. This also means the device could pose as a fire hazard in most vehicles as the positive side of each channel is unfused apart from the main 60A breaker. This means a thin wire if the insulation became worn could short out or become hot enough to creat a serious hazard without the circuit being broken. The Kings model that I previously owned was positive switched and had a remote wire which allowed the unit to power on and off with the whole vehicle (which this model does not)
Good idea but has problems
It's a really good idea but it lacks a real power turn off when you hold the power on off button Yes it changes the colour display but you physically can't turn that off unless you put a remote switch under the bonnet For the price that you pay it should have one Having a 60 amp reset switch fuse inline doesn't kill the power unless you pop the bonnet and get in and undo it You can undo the cord that goes into the switch but make sure that you've turned everything off before you disconnect it or it'll stay on until you reconnect it switch it off then disconnect the cable, The silly thing is you can disconnect the cable that goes to the switch by unscreening and pulling it apart and the power wheel go out to the switch and then put the switch back together cable and it won't have any power until you turn it on It should have at least put a wire that went to your ignition Other than that it's a bloody great idea
