A voltage regulator is an electronic circuit that provides a stable DC voltage independent of the load current, temperature and AC line voltage variations. A voltage regulator may use a simple feed-forward design or may include negative feedback.

Watch the Pinout!

RoshanJune 2025

I found LM2936-3.3 particularly handy when building circuits that combine both high-voltage components (like audio amps) with sensitive low-voltage ones. One crucial tip: double-check the pinout. With the flat side (label side) of the regulator facing you, Vin is on the right, GND is in the middle, and Vout is on the left. Some online sources show reverse Vin and Vout, which can lead to damaging your components. Always confirm with a multimeter before wiring.

Most versatile, adjustable, regulator.

AltonaApril 2024

This linear regulator can be easily configured as an adjustable voltage regulator, or repurposed into current limiting regulator. Remember to include a heatsink for high power loads. Unfortunately, this product has been prematurely discontinued at Jaycar so grab some while you still can.
