1 Year WarrantyUSB 2.0240V Mains Power

Critical systems should ideally be connected to some form of backup power in the event of a blackout, power surge or brownout. A fault at the grid may drop the voltage at the mains, which could cause some systems to shutdown, reset, lose data or worse, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage (both material and immaterial).

These line interactive units give you a good balance between real time system protection and power redundancy when mains electricity is down or experiencing reliability issues. During mains voltage sags both units will deliver a steady voltage, keeping critical systems running properly. For a total power blackout the units can keep your systems running long enough to save important data or cleanly shutdown connected devices. Other important features include an auto shutdown when no load is detected, audible alarms for low battery, self diagnosis on boot, and intelligent battery management.

Both models feature an easy to read LCD which displays battery and load values as a percentage and input/output voltages. At the rear of the unit are 2 x RJ11 sockets for Telephone/Fax protection and a USB socket for connection to your PC for use with the power management software.

Features:

• Short circuit protection: Yes
• Mains connections: 2 (input and output)

For all software compatibility, please refer to the manual, which includes a download link. Alternatively, you can download the software directly from the official website.

Works fine, but a nightmare to service

WillJune 2026

I bought this unit (model MP5205) around 2023, and as expected the battery eventually failed. I only found out when a power outage hit and it just died, because the unit has no way of tracking battery health. No big deal, I thought, I'll just buy a replacement battery and swap it in. Wrong. This thing is a pain to service. For starters, the power cable on the back is permanently attached, so you have to unplug the whole unit from the wall to work on it. There's no way to disconnect the battery from the transformer without taking the entire device apart. The only isolation you can manage is pulling the fuse. The case is held together with 8 screws. Once you get inside, you're greeted by a mess of exposed electronics and capacitors, and if you're not careful you could easily hurt yourself. The battery itself is not easy to swap. You have to lift up the control board, which is also screwed down. Removing two screws let me raise it just enough to get the battery out. Then there's a metal bracket holding the battery in place that needs to be unscrewed before you can slide everything out. The manual offers zero guidance on repairs beyond telling you to take it to a qualified technician. There are no safety or warning markings on the device before you open it, and no repair guide anywhere in the documentation. I managed the swap on my own, but I wouldn't recommend it. In 3 years when this battery dies, I'll be replacing the whole thing with another brand that will be easier to service.

Battery Didnt last 12 months. Shuts down at random

ScottAugust 2024

Bought two of these, after 12 months batteries no good and slightest power drop and everything turns off. Replaced batteries and one is now OK, but the other still randomly turns off. They are only providing backup to Router/Modem and small switch so not much load either. Dissapointed as started out OK for a cheap UPS Had them a few years now and looking for alternative as not reliable. Will likely go to APC instead.

No surge protection!

Pearso1988January 2025

No surge protection at all! Two pc power packs fried from an electrical storm. All other Ups units that are powersheild and Apc branded remained Unaffected. The digitech unit is only good for a paperweight. Save yourself and purchase a better brand. Only 6 months old.

Excellent little device savers.

I have 3 of these smaller UPS's and 2 of the larger units keeping power to devices in my home. They work absolutely fine if you respect the wattage of the UPS. For example, I have one of these smaller units on my network cabinet in the garage. It supplies power to my NBN FTTH NTU, Modem, 24 port switch, dual bay QNAP and 4x POE injectors for the meshed WAP's. The display on that UPS is about 25% load, and realistically holds the power for about 40 minutes before dropping out. Another UPS is solely for keeping power to my Eufy Homebase 3 and it barely registers a load. You DO need to replace the 12V SLA batteries every 18-24 months, depending on how often the power drops out. Lead acid batteries do NOT like being discharged, so the more they are 'cycled' the worse they get. Factor that into your running costs, and you won't go wrong. I have had these UPS's for years, and never had an actual fault other than the batteries being dead. You work this out when the power drops, and nothing stays up then that's your indicator to replace the 12V cells.
