Difficult to configure with RPI 3B

JonesyDecember 2024

Purchaed this in Dec 2024 to use as a KlipperScreen, but have spent the last 48 hours trying to get the screen to work properly with a RPI 3B (2 of them), unsuccessfully. I got the display working easily enough immediately after connecting, but the resistive touch wouldn't work. I used an alternive RPI 3B and loaded it with a geenral PIOS (bookworm) to work on it while the Klipper RPI was woprking. After followed the instructions within the download section of the Jaycar website The screen now boots to a white dot in the top left of the screen and is totally unresponsive. Got some more SSH work to do, trying some different drivers. I decided to buy this from Jaycar as I like the shop, they're good and I like to support the business. I think I'm going to buy an altyernative online (ironically at half the price) if I can't get this to work.

just kinda worked

zooperdoopersJuly 2026

was a bit nervous after seeing the other review, but then just plugged it in and it worked lol. i like how thin it is, even with the pi attached. used with a raspberry pi 5 for the past few months. pretty cool stuff. touchscreen drivers all worked. stylus is just as fun to chew on as they were when i was a kid.
