This works- BUT unless you know better (I didnt), you need to pay attention to the little arrow embossed on the adaptor plug you use. It has a right and a wrong way (polarity). It plugs into the cable in the wrong polarity just as easily as the right way. I'm still not clear on how you can tell which is the right way, but people who understand electronics can apparently!
