Great for crimping, hopeless with solder

ZaphodMay 2025

For the most part this cable is good. The reason I gave it two stars is the insulation has a very low melting point which is terrible for soldering. The insulation shrinks away from the solder joint exposing wires and if there is too much heat it melts off the wire. It works well for crimped connectors.

Great

Great product, maybe get some lessons on how to solder.

Hopeless for soldering the conductor

Bonus LifeNovember 2025

I absolutely agree with another reviewer - Hopeless if soldering. Outer sheath melts away Really quickly & pulls back. If on an angle, the sheath melts off the bend leaving the conductor exposed. Poor for soldering to plugs/sockets - impossible to make a clean joint. Very disappointing, because past that it generally has good mechanical toughness & is well suited for use in a vehicle.

Decent wire but the insulation is fairly soft, makes it flexible but if soldering does become soft and expanded next to the wire if doing decent sized connections.

Great once I learned how to use it

SomeoneNoOneSeptember 2026

I did not like this cable initially because I couldn't solder it, after reading reviews, using ai to solve my issues, adjusted my soldering iron to 400 degrees C and it solders great, just gotta be fast, and not even that fast, great for crimping too, I use a 60w soldering iron, no issues.
