1 Year WarrantyUSB 2.0240V Mains Power Delivered for $25

Critical systems should ideally be connected to some form of backup power in the event of a blackout, power surge or brownout. A fault at the grid may drop the voltage at the mains, which could cause some systems to shutdown, reset, lose data or worse, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage (both material and immaterial).

These line interactive units give you a good balance between real time system protection and power redundancy when mains electricity is down or experiencing reliability issues. During mains voltage sags both units will deliver a steady voltage, keeping critical systems running properly. For a total power blackout the units can keep your systems running long enough to save important data or cleanly shutdown connected devices. Other important features include an auto shutdown when no load is detected, audible alarms for low battery, self diagnosis on boot, and intelligent battery management.

Both models feature an easy to read LCD which displays battery and load values as a percentage and input/output voltages. At the rear of the unit are 2 x RJ11 sockets for Telephone/Fax protection and a USB socket for connection to your PC for use with the power management software.

Features:

• Mains connections: 2 (input and output)

Note: Must be powered from the mains or a pure sinewave source (inverter, etc)

Please note: Software will ask for serial number during installation. The number is printed on the cd sleeve.

For all software compatibility check the installation disk.

Not fit for their intended/advertised purpose.

I've bought two of these (smaller one and this one). Both failed within the first year. When having it replaced, Jaycar just swapped it for another form the shelf with no paperwork trail. The replacements also failed within 6 months. They're built cheap and don't operate within their ambient temperature conditions as stated in the documentation. I would not recommend buying these UPSs. They're not fit for their intended or advertised use.

NOT RECOMMENDED (Zero support)

The product worked for a few years then just failed to light up. It must be a simple problem (not the fuse!) but with no service to fix the unit, and no replacement motherboards available to get it going, and no response to my request for help, this entire 99% (I guess) functioning UPS must now be 100% thrown away. Such a pity in this time when we are trying to reduce waste, I really wanted to replace the motherbaord.... So you take a gamble buying this product, it probably won't last long. and it will be a stain on the environment when anything simple thing goes wrong.

Last around two years before failure.

I expected more from these UPS boxes and they don’t seem to last more than a couple of years before dying, and it’s usually the charging circuit rather than the batteries. My 1500VA failed and got replaced under warranty, now its replacement has just failed and keeps switching off within seconds. I replaced a failed 650VA with another brand and that has proved to be much more reliable, so it looks like I’m moving away from Digitech to replace the failed 1500VA now.

1st world problems…..

I bought my UPS about a year ago just to run the Internet router/modem so the internet keeps working for the next power out. No more waiting 5min for it to boot up. Had a planed power out for over 4 hours and it lasted the whole time which I never expected. Win, win!

Simple and effective

I bought 2 of these over a year ago. Haven’t had many power outages since but they have done their job well. They are simple (don’t expect too many advanced features) but work. Only down side was when a car hit a power pole and caused a surge, it knocked out the one that wasn’t on a surge protected outlet. So plug them into a surge protected outlet.

Works well but...

I bought this a few years ago and lost the power supply once or twice in that time. The UPS kicked in no problem but doesn't last long enough to do anything other than save your work and shutdown [mission accomplished?] I had trouble getting the software to work which was never resolved. Recently we had a power outage and it failed to kick in and just shutdown. On testing, it shut down as soon as a load was applied. There was no indication on the front panel that there was any type of fault. I paid $80 for 2 replacement batteries which took about 15 minutes to install. Shouldn't be a problem for most although I wouldn't attempt it unless you have a little electrical safety knowledge. They're 9Ah instead of the 7Ah batteries that it comes with so that should be a plus. Just tested it and it now works fine. At the end of the day, $80 and 15 minutes of time is better than replacement cost but no notification of a failed battery is a problem.

Fantastic value, I would love a larger model too!

I have two of these larger units and three of the smaller ones. Every one of them is an absolute beast and perform exactly as intended when the power is cut. These larger ones have two 12V SLA gel cell batteries, and DO need to be replaced every 18-24 months, so factor that into your running costs. Sooner if you have a lot of power outages and prone to just letting the device deplete the batteries. Pro tip: Lead acid batteries do NOT like being discharged frequently, ask your car how I know. I have these two larger units powering my home lab servers in a cross PSU redundancy. Each PSU has one power lead to each UPS, that way if one UPS fails, then the other will take the slack. Handy for knowing when the batteries need changing! As for changing the batteries in this and the the smaller UPS. I find it quite easy. If you are not able to change the time on your car stereo, or microwave, then perhaps DIY electronics stores are not for you after all.

Linux supported

Got this working in linux, using nut, key ideas: nut-scanner, change /etc/nut/ups.conf driver to legacy: driver = "blazer_usb" then add the line: langid_fix = "0x409" Comment out the bus, device and busport lines, they can change between boots.
