Works fine as a DVD player, for a while.
Works fine as a DVD player - for a while! Unfortunately, the DVD laser tends to fail / burn out. The inbuilt media player is very peculiar about codecs and is unable to play MPEGs encoded with, for example, Handbrake. For the occasional DVD viewing this unit works as expected.

Great keep you sane while traveling with the Kids on a long road trip
Makes long road trips kid bearable
I bought two of these items a couple of years ago. (I van a van with two rows of rear seats.) I had converted the DVD's to USB (32G) which allows for multiple movies on the one flash drive -- just need to have it in AVI format and no folders. Saves carrying a library of DVD and more robust. The only bad side is trying to replace the car 12volt power cable -
